Naturally Easy and Affordable Facials

We tend to think the only way to achieve soft, supple and glowing skin is through expensive creams and spa treatments. Great skin can be achieved by going no further than your kitchen and recreating the spa experience can happen right in the comfort of your home. The following are simple treatments that can be enjoyed together or individually.

Steam Facial: Opens pores to rid trapped dirt and oil.

You’ll need: A pot and towel. Optional: essential oil

  • Wash your face and remove any jewellery and makeup.
  • Take a pot and fill halfway with water. Bring to boil.
  • Optional: Add a few drops of essential oil (lavender, jasmine, rose etc).
  • Remove from heat and hold your face at a comfortable distance above the pot. About a 30 cm will do.
  • Inhale the steam and allow it to cleanse your face, roughly 10 mins. To create a steam room effect, cover your head and pot with a towel.
  • If at any point it becomes too hot or you need to get a breath of air, feel free to remove the towel and take in a few deep breaths. No need to suffer!
  • To finish, splash your face with cold water and pat dry.

Honey Mask: Ultimate moisturizer and skin toner

You’ll need: Organic Honey (the darker in colour the better!), a pot, and a metal bowl/glass jar.

  • Wash face and remove any makeup.
  • Fill pot with 2 inches of water. Turn to medium low heat.
  • Put 2-3 tbsp of honey in to jar/bowl. Place jar/bowl into pot.
  • Heat honey until its WARM, not hot.
  • Smooth honey onto face in circular motions, avoiding the eyes.
  • Leave for 10-30mins.
  • Rinse with warm water and finish with a splash of cold water.
  • Pat dry and apply moisturizer.

*These treatments come with obvious dangers. Please be mindful.

Cheers to putting your best face forward!

Peace

Victoria.
