iMakeup?! by Mahi Hadizadeh

Lancôme has had a high-tech strategy of establishing personal connections between the brand and its clients. They were the first brand in the market to launch a mobile commerce website in 2007. Today, they continue that strategy of innovation with an iPhone application that lets women try out their new “Declare Indigo“ fall line of make-up, get make-up tips from Lancôme experts, and even share their creations with their friends!

The app is designed not only to provide information about the new product line, but also to give an interactive experience that lets consumers virtually try out the new make-up colors and experiment with various combinations and looks. You can easily touch the screen and apply the makeup and apply the make-up in a fairly natural way and, after you have finished, you can save your creation and email it to a friend. A client can show you exactly what look she is looking for.

Lancôme is notifying their customers about this app on their web sites, as well as by weekly emails. Do not be upset if you have not been notified, your avatar probably has!

Alternative Apparel

LOVE THE LINE, LOVE THE LOOK
-By Alessia Mastropietro

Roger Gingerich a former teacher of mine had messaged me a little while ago to tell me about this new line he was carrying “Alternative Apparel”. Interested I decided to take a look at the website, IT WAS LOVE!! Loved every piece, style, color, EVERYTHING. I felt that it was very fashionable but also provided the comfort that everyone wants.

Now interning with James LaRose, doing corporate sales, we had gone to see Roger and take a look at ALTERNATIVE APPAREL. Well I would have to say I loved it even more. It just felt so soft! So not only are they comfortable pieces that look fashionable, but they feel great against your skin, with its softness and flawless fit.

They also carry a line called Alternative Earth, so you can make a difference with what you wear. Its Eco-friendly fabrics, made with organic cotton, recycled polyester, and man-made fibers, create more softness against your body.

Alternative apparel offers apparel and accessory items to women, men, babies and toddlers, created my designer Greg Alterman in Los Angeles.

'Check-In' to this!

'Check-In' to this!

By Stefanie Di Mascio

L
ast month in the US, Facebook launched an application by the name of Places (available to Canadians this month). Using a location-based feature on your Smartphone this application allows Facebook users to ‘check in’ to real time locations like restaurants, shopping malls, etc. Once you’ve checked in you can tag friends, (just like you would tag them in pictures) notifying them your whereabouts. If anyone on your friends list also has this application you will be able to see when they checked in, where they are and approximately how far they are from your current location. The new application is going head-to-head with current location programs like Foursquare, Google’s Latitude and Gowalla.

So what do you think? Is this application necessary? Any chance you’ll be signing up for it once it’s available here? Personally, I don’t think the application is for everyone. The days of doing your own thing without having to tell the world are clearly over. I love my friends but I don’t need to know where they are every hour of the day. If they are at a great restaurant or watching amazing movie I can wait for them to tell me after the fact. It’s been said that Facebook has assisted in the demise of many relationships, and I have a feeling an application like Places will jolt the relationship world once again. For those of you fibbing about where you are or where you have been, you may want to stay away from this APP and watch your back because someone you know may just check in.

season Four! by: Alessia Mastropietro

OMGG! SEPTEMBER 13TH CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!.... GOSSIP GIRL SEASON FOUR ! It’s back with, high society, big scandals, fabulous fashion, and even more gossip. Yes this is one of my favourite shows I must say. I have been waiting for this season to start since my love Chuck Bass got shot at the end of season 3, I just couldn’t help but to see what would happen next. Last season didn’t just end with a BANG, but S&B jetted off to Paris, how lucky! While D had just found out he was a father to be to Georgina’s baby.
What will happen next???, How was Paris? What happened to Chuck Bass? How’s the GG crew? What is going to happen with this baby?
All these questions will be answered Monday the 13th on MuchMusic.
So those of you, who have made plans, cancel! You cannot miss this night!

Lipstick Love Affair

By Stefania Di Mascio

Ok ladies so I’m overwhelmed with excitement and I can’t wait to share with you my new favourite lipstick. You’re probably thinking what’s the big deal it’s just a lipstick but for anyone that knows me they know I’m a lip-gloss, Chap Stick kinda gal. However, a month or so ago my girlfriend came over and we were getting ready to go out. I routinely put on my sheerest lip-gloss while she applies her lipstick, THE LIPSTICK. One look and I was instantly intrigued so I asked her if I could try it. Well, let me tell you I apply the lipstick all the while thinking ‘it won’t look good on me’ only to be proven wrong. It was as if I had found a long lost friend. It was clear to me right then and there that I had to have this magical shade of lipstick. Not only did I ask her to borrow it for re-application the whole night but the next day I went to the mall and bought it. Every time I wear it I get complimented and I tell everyone I know about it. To top it all off I have changed my way of thinking-I too can wear lipstick, who knew!

The Lipstick: made by M A C, Crosswires. This cream based, coral shade looks good on just about anyone.
