Social media has take
n over the world. Twitter, Facebook, Blog sites, and more. Look I can prove it with this blog that we spend so much time online. There is an actually award given out to fashion designers based on the social media titled Fashion 2.0. The award categories include best twitter, best webpage, best blog, best innovator and best online video.
The top winner was DKNY who won both best twitter and best blog. Both of these are huge. If you are nominated and win it just shows who is doing well in the tough industry of fashion, especially with economic crisis still lingering in the air.
Other winners included Marc Jacobs for Best Website, the Prada Spring 2011 campaign for Best Online Video and Kate Spade for Top Innovator.
A special gong, the Fashion 2.0 Visionary Award, went to Gilt Groupe co-founders Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson to acknowledge their achievements in e-commerce.
All I have to really say is that I need to get to work on my social media sites and beat out the whole competition.
