And now for her next magic trick...
The Harry Potter superstar and face of Burberry is entering the world of high-fashion by collaborating with Italian fashion house Alberta Ferretti to conjur up an eco-friendly collection. The announcement came following the wrap-up of her latest collection as creative advisor for the fair trade fashion brand, People Tree.
Consisting of five pieces, Pure Threads has been described by Watson, 20, as an environmentally friendly collection that is heavily inspired by '70s icon Jane Birkin. Hand laced embroideries will add a feminine touch to the line that is said to include two dresses, a shirt, a long skirt, and denim shorts. Organic fabrics such as cotton poplin, cotton muslin, and hemp have been selected for the line, which will appeal to "sensitive people, who want to be supportive of [environmental] issues" said Watson.
"I'm grateful Emma accepted this creative partnership," said Ferretti in the latest issue of WWD, "I like her freshness, her spontaneity and simplicity. She is intelligent....a young modern girl of today but aware of social issues at the same time."
Beginning March 21st, the collection will be sold exclusively on albertaferretti.com. Part of the proceeds will be donated to People Tree, a non-profit organization supported by Watson.
