Celebs Renting Style

Now this is something I've never seen before. Celebrities can pay half the price but still be fabulously red carpet ready. Divinelab's visionary marketer Leesa Butler has created a new fashion lounge called Stylelab, which is solely for our new Canadian Screen Awards. The lounge offers Screen Award attendees an opportunity to wear any brand name piece such as Gucci, Armani, Badgley Mischka and Swarovsky. They had access to suits, ties, and dress shirts from Off the Cuff, dresses from Rent Frock Repeat, clutches from Kara Ross, jewelry from MMCrystal, and cufflinks from Cuffwear.

Celebs can rent big ticket brand names to wear to major events, and return it when they're done. They pay a fraction of the regular retail price and save more. With the stereotypical assumption that outfit repeats are cliché for celebs, this definitely works in their favour. Not only are they getting brand names for more than half the price, but the store owners who represent their companies - style the celebrities themselves.

Here are some of the fashionable pieces our Canadian talent had access to:

This red pin stripe Versace suit that usually retails at $1500 was available for rent from Off the Cuff for $549.

A gorgeous Badgley Mischka peach and white v-neck sleeveless dressRetails for $600 and rents for $120 from Rent Frock Repeat.

Here is a crystal black set - one of the many beautiful jewelry pieces available from MMCrystal.

This tread mark python clutch that retails for $1,755 from Kara Ross was readily available to rent for celebrities.

Last but definitely not the least are these ingenious and entertaining cufflinks from Cuffwear which all sell around $65 a pair.

I thought Stylelab was a fantastic idea. You don't have to pay an expensive price for a designer look knowing you won't be able to wear it again to another event, without outfit repeating. I look forward to seeing what else the Stylelab has in store for Toronto.
