As the busiest time in award season whines down, the largest
night in film took center stage at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, which took place last Sunday evening. The awards honored the best
directors, actors, and behind the scenes personnel from this past year.
More than actual award show, was the Pre-Oscar event that
being the red carpet extravaganza, and just as anticipated the fashion didn’t
disappoint. Whenever one thinks about the Academy Awards red carpet, they
envision fairytale like fashions, with gowns that resemble those in fairytales.
For me that is how I felt watching last Sunday, in
that I saw many modern day fairytales come to light on the red carpet.
Amada Seyfried has seaked to amaze me all award season long,
as she looked magnificent in a lilac organza gown, which had silver embroidery
by Alexander McQueen. The gown complemented her figure exquisitely, and she
completed her look with simple yet appropriate Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and shoes by Roger Vivier.
Best Actress Award winner Jennifer Lawrence for her role in Silver Linings Playbook looked divine in
a Dior Haute Couture dress that she match with Chopard jewels, and Roger Vivier
clutch. Jennifer truly looked like a
modern day princess as she walked the red carpet.
What can I say about Best Actress nominee Quvenzhane Wallis; she looked cute as a button on the red carpet. She wore a custom midnight blue Giorgio Armani that was encrusted with rhinestones. She matched it perfectly with a puppy purse by Poochie & Co. and I just think it was just perfect for the 9-year-old actress.
Jennifer Hudson looked dazzling in a royal blue embroidered Roberto Cavalli Couture dress, and a Jimmy Choo clutch. Later on that evening she look stunning in a
Kaufmanfranco sparkling gown, which she wore during
her amazing performance during the award show broadcast. Both of those gowns showed off her newly slender frame beautifully.
Finally, Best-Supporting Actress and one of my favourite Amy
Adams was another who looked like she walked out of a fairytale in a pale blue
Oscar de la Renta gown that she matched with Mouawad jewelry. The shape of the
dress fit her beautifully, with a fitted bodice that gave her a gorgeous
waistline.
All in all, the red carpet was truly fairytale like and I
was sincerely astonished at the fashion that I saw, and get excited while
waiting in anticipation for next year.
