The Cruelty Free Commitment

If you’re in search for a New Years Resolution (and I know you all hopelessly and desperately are), consider this suggestion as food for thought. Now, you may think that what I’m about to suggest may seem impossible if not too difficult to achieve in the coming year, but I’m going to tell you differently. I’m talking about eliminating the use of animal tested products.

A great deal of suffering is being done to these poor creatures and not enough people have been made aware. But if more awareness is brought to light on this heinous cruelty, perhaps it will be the next “going green” movement.

And no, to answer your question, it is not that difficult. No, you don’t have to be vegetarian, vegan, granola or kosher – it’s an ethical venture towards making the world a better place. There’s no need to become frantic about changing your entire lifestyle when going cruelty free – it is a process! Personally, I became vegetarian when I was 15, vegan two months ago, cruelty free one year ago and will be eliminating leather in 2013. It’s okay to take steps, just know that you’re doing something good which is always a start.

So, where do you start? PETA offers a list of companies who DO or DO NOT test on animals and also offer a cruelty free catalogue for your ordering needs.

Here's the link:

It’s an excellent commitment to the better treatment of animals. You’ll be happy and proud that you went through with it.

Thanks and much love,

Mary Taylor
