Lady Gaga's Stage Costumes: From Armani to Versace

Aside from her famous creativity in pop music, we all know Lady Gaga for her remarkable theatrics and wild fashion sense; her Born This Way Ball Tour being an obvious example of these characteristics.

In April of this year, Giorgio Armani was announced as the artist’s costume designer for her tour. He stated that:

"Collaborating with Lady Gaga is always an exciting experience for me. I admire the way she uses fashion as a scenic element and as a means to build a character."

The designer created diverse stage outfits for the performer, including a long-sleeved, floor-length shift dress, as well as a black and white hat shaped like a keyboard. The Armani team used PVC, metal studs, and jet-black Swarovski crystals to create the outfits.

But, watch out Armani! Lady Gaga is spreading her own rumors, and if proved to be true, Versace will be designing the tour’s costumes for America.

On November 13, 2012 at 3:17am, the singer tweeted:

"THE BORN THIS WAY BALL is getting a face-lift for America. I heard rumors @VERSACE IS CUSTOM DESIGNING ALL THE CLOTHES AND NEW LOOKS."

Lady Gaga’s passion for Versace clothes is no secret to anyone. She recently made headlines wearing THE safety-pin dress which was originally made famous by Elizabeth Hurley in 1994.

The singer has also become pals with Donatella Versace, the brand’s chief designer. This past September, during Paris Fashion Week, the two posed for photographer Terry Richardson – Gaga topless.

Versace’s costume designs for Lady Gaga will surely be translated into stylish, bold and risqué pieces that the brand has always been recognized for.

Lady Gaga Gets Naked for Supreme

Supreme has always been a label that I’ve never been cool enough to wear, straight up. Born on the streets of Manhattan in 1994, the brand has become eponymous with NYC skate culture and has maintained a cult following of those in-the-know about street style.

This week, Purple Fashion Magazine released a spread starring Lady Gaga sporting Supreme duds, a move that is sure to launch the label’s mainstream exposure into the stratosphere. The shots were taken by legendary photog Terry Richardson, while Gaga’s stylist, Nicola Formichetti, served as the shoot’s fashion director. The pics are minimal in set and, well, clothes. One shot features her royal fabness in nothing more than platform pumps, with a Supreme skateboard covering her lady parts.

The shots have already gone viral, exposing thousands of people to Supreme, much to the chagrin of the brand’s loyal fans. In Toronto, Supreme is available only at Nomad located on Richmond St. near Spadina Ave. Apparently, and this is second hand news to me so don't quote me on it, the Supreme rep has been apprehensive about bringing the skate brand to Nomad’s new Queen St. location because it will become over exposed. Thanks to Lady Gaga, I say it's too late for that.

Welcome Back Mr. Ford!!!

The fashion world has been waiting to see what Tom Ford will bring them next….and he did not disappoint. After much speculation and expectations being set from both his lovers and haters, Tom Ford has once again brought the sex appeal and luxurious femininity that he so famously delivered most recently for the houses of Gucci and YSL. This time, however, it’s all on his terms.

He chose to show in his Madison Avenue store during New York Fashion week this past September, having women who inspire him, such as Beyonce, Julianne Moore and Stella Tennant as models. The audience was no more than 100, there was no pre or post pubilicty, and the only photographer that was shooting was Terry Richardson, who was doing so for the house of Tom Ford. There was also no release of photos for the internet, keeping the details of his line and first runway show back a secret from the masses. Until now…..
