This summer pick out your glasses with care! Designers are flocking to the idea of extending eco-friendly products to Eyewear. Haute Couture designer Gucci is one of the few to go eco-friendly with their eyewear collection set to debut this August.

Gucci has join forces with Safilo to launch a collection of eyewear. The new collection is made from innovative acetate, containing a high proportion of natural organic materials. The acetate used contains a higher percentage of natural origins compared to traditional acetate. Castor oil seeds are used as an alternative of petroleum-derived plastic which in exchange also reduces the CO2 emission in the production process.

The sunglasses and prescription frames will be available in two styles. As well, all glasses will be available in two colours which sticks to the typical tone of the Haute couture fashion house.

WAIT, theres more.... Along side the launch of Gucci's eco-sustainable eyewear collection, the package design will ALSO be affected by these changes. Gucci will present their new eco-friendly packaging, and catalogs beginning in 2012. The two brands are also working to create a new prototype made from another alternative plastic!!

The prescription frames are expected to hit Gucci stores and select retail stores in late September, while the sunglasses are expected to hit stores in October. Don't miss it!

With summer around the corner we all can’t wait to hit the beaches and show off. Wherever you decide to go the one important thing that will be on your mind this summer will be the swimsuit pieces you put on to accentuate that beach body of yours.

With all the latest trends for summer coming out it can be quiet a task to pick out what suits one and whether you have the hottest body or not it is still quiet imperative to pick out what works for you. Here are a few pointers to help you flatter your figure and still look trendy:

Fuller figure

• Accentuate your curves rather than hide them. Try halter necks or cupped styles, and anything that brings in the waist to play to an hourglass shape.

Pear shape / small bust

• Use ruffles to your advantage by adding volume at the top half to create curves. Vintage cupped styles with padding would do the trick

Top heavy

• By adding ruffles to the bottom you balance your hips with your bust. Stick to structured styles and halter necks.

Athletic figures

• If you're not big on the curves make the most of styles like statement strapping, backless styles and crochet that instead show off a toned physique.

SIX S/S 2011 FASHION TRENDS

I can’t speak for everyone but I'm so glad that winter is finally over. I hate cold weather and I absolutely adore spring and summer clothes. In this blog entry I would like to acquaint you with this season’s eight major fashion trends.

1.The most important trend this summer is neon colours. They are bright vivid, expressive and generally fun! They can be worn either day or night. I’m quite aware that some people feel that they can’t pull off bright colors and prefer pastels. But if you are not apprehensive about wearing bold vivid colours then it's a perfect trend for you!

2.The second trend is stripes. My feeling is that stripes are popular every season. This classic trend is timeless and chic. Stripes will never go out of style. You can wear stripes with pretty much everything: jeans, shorts, skirts, you name it.

3. What girl doesn't like lace? It's so flirty, sexy and feminine. It just occurred to me that I’ve used the word feminine too many times in this blog post. In my defense, it seems to be the best word to describe the spring/summer 2011 fashion trends.

4. Floral prints. A lot of girls would be happy to wear floral skirts, shirts, and dresses. It’s romantic and feminine. But be careful so as not to wind up looking like your grandmother.

5. Maxi dresses and maxi skirts. I am so in love this trend - very feminine! I have witnessed a lot of girls sporting this look. And contrary to popular belief, a woman doesn’t need to be tall to carry this look.

6. High waisted pants and shorts. It was big trend a few years ago and it’s making a comeback. I love 70's fashion, it's so sophisticated and classy.

Top 2 Necessities to an Easy Breezy Summer '11

So last week I was in South Beach, MIA...all I can say is gorgeous, the weather, the beach, the FASHION. I must say I saw some incredible outfits, some others unfortunate (to say the least)...including a women injected head to toe (with extremely large buttox implants) in a one piece speedo all colours of the rainbow. But what I discovered in Miami are my top 2 necessities to an easy, breezy summer ’11. After all, how can we not be prepping up our wardrobes for spring/summer when the retailers are already suggesting it!?

So here they are...

1. The Romper...so versatile it may be the answer to your every summer wardrobe craze! A day at the beach? Toss a romper over your bathing suit. How about a breezy evening on the town, full leg length romper with a cardigan over the shoulders...hello, adorable!

2. UGG Slippers...I must admit, I’ve never been an UGG boot fan; I just don’t find them stylish, but I think I found my weak spot for the most comfortable slipper my foot has ever rested in. An “amen” from the foot for comfort...four colour choices with studded embellishment, the Deitra Sandal is definitely a fashionable addition to the wardrobe.
