From Converse to Stilettos - Kristen Stewart's Style Evolution

Although "style icon" may not be the first word that comes to mind when it comes to our favourite buzz worthy celeb Kristen Stewart, we are always curious and on the look out of what her next red carpet look will be.

Seemingly nonchalant, Kristen has stated in her interview with Vogue Magazine that she isn't keen on actresses who are "more concerned about looking pretty in your heels, and so you're walking slowly down the line. Put a pair of sneakers on." From one extreme to the other, we soon find Kristen rocking sexy high heels and body hugging outfits! Lets take a closer look at her style, and how its evolved over the years with some honorable mentions...

In 2009, Kristen attended a red carpet event sporting a Yigal Azrouël dress with beat-up sneakers, creating a youthful, edgy, and non traditional look.
















Again in 2009, this time at the teen choice awards Kristen has gone for a super punk rock ensemble with a spiked metal skirt, wonder what the Volturi would think of this look? One plus, heels!

Kristen is taking on a more sophisticated glam look at the premier of Snow White and the Huntsman , but oh wait...take a closer look...Sneakers!!! Quite a strange combination to say the least.                                       

This outfit is to die for, Kristen looks stunning at the TIFF festival this year - feminine, sexy, and sophisticated. Once she called it a night however, on came the sneakers, this might be her signature look after all!

VA-VA-VOOM!! She sure knows how to make a statement, confidently wearing a sheer Zuhair Murad jumpsuit, all eyes were on her at the Twilight Breaking Dawn 2 premier.
















One this is for sure, the red carpet would be a boring place, without the young and rebellious fashion flare of the only woman who can rock a sheer gown and kicks - Kristen Stewart.

How to Survive in Heels

Most people believe that women wearing heels on a daily basis are either a)trying too hard, b)going to fall on their face at any given moment, or c)crazy. I am here to say that those people have gotten it totally wrong. I am a heels lover, and I am not the only one who feels more comfortable wearing 5” heels over flats any day of the week. I am giving all of you ladies who are too intimidated to wear those 5” heels a quick 1,2,3 guide on How-To-Survive-In Heels.

Make sure you:

1. If not a wedge, go for a thick, chunky heel; the thicker the heel, the less likely you are to lose your balance.

2. Find a shoe with some grip on the soles, then you can walk anywhere and everywhere!

3. Ankle support is very important if you want to be able to keep up with your ladies while out and about. You can get a shoe that’s a bootie, or else something with a strap around the ankle. (see images below for examples)

There was no doubt we’d soon see some hot yet very different shoes hit the market. Original shoe designer Taylor Reeve is a California graphic designer and creator of the street brand “Taylor Says”. The brand features fun pieces, which are all unique with hand-painted finishing’s. The insoles of the brands stilettos have become artist Taylor Reeve’s canvass to paint on creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces. In my opinion, these heels definitely have made a spot next to the great Christian Louboutin.

Christian Louboutin, the king of stilettos, has grown upon his shoe empire through the last two decades. He’s come a long way since the early 90’s with the debut of his signature red soles and has become untouchable. The red sole epidemic has grown so large everyone wants in on the action. Taylor Says stiletto's are priced at $250- $350 and are an amazing substitute for those of us whom can't afford more than one pair of Louboutin's. You can even have these shoes custom made with your own ideas or you can allow Taylor to use her artistic creativity to create you a pair. Lady Gaga VS. Her Heels

These are the heels that took Lady Gaga down, literally.

This legendary tumble was just an accident waiting to happen after the
countless insane heels and outfits Lady Gaga has adorned. These shoes by
Japanese designer Noritaka Tatehana, quickly became many-a fashion maven's must
have. Retailing at up to a bank breaking $4800, many obviously couldn't afford
them. So the brand Bettie Page latched on to the design and created an
affordable version for $118 on ShopNastyGal.com.

And
apparently there are a lot of daredevils out there because they quickly sold
out. But being the shoe enthusiast I am, as soon as I saw these shoes were
available at a cheaper price, I immediately went on to Ebay to see if there
were any on there, there was, starting at $94.58. I also found them on
Cutesygirl.com for $97.99. On both sites there available in plain black,
leopard, and zebra.

So how many other crazy shoe people like me dare to walk in Lady Gaga's shoes.
I have a feeling I won't see many on the streets, but I'M totally excited about
them and might have to spring for a pair! I'm also pretty sure I can handle
these heels without falling. ;)
