Prior to arriving in Canada a couple of years ago, I had heard of 1 LOVE T.O. and its goal - I was taken by its goals and the work they were doing. Finally there was an end to the abundance of "I (heart) NY" shirts that everyone in their right (and wrong) mind was wearing. Why not give it to another city?
1 LOVE T.O. started off with a close group of friends that wanted to embark upon an adventure, which would showcase the city's natural urban talents. With a line of basic tees, carrying the slogan "1 (heart) T.O." they popularized the brand throughout the world, using urban outlets throughout the blogosphere.
Soon enough the ever-so-essential Events came in, as the team supported local artists and praised their talents, by promoting them on their blog. Not only than, but 1 love T.O's own T-Rexxx recently became the host of Much Music's re-incarnated 'RapCity'.
In addition, the team supports a movement called 'Young Onez' which features Raptors' stars DeRozan, Johnson and Weems, who help the brand educate and reach out to Toronto's youth, through a variety of Basketball-oriented activities.
