Each year during the month of Movember, formerly known as November, thousands of men put down the Gillette and store away the shave cream and after balm for one specific cause- men’s Prostate cancer. A once upon a time story that no one really spoke of… well the time has come- to grow in your Mo.

This is how it all works; on Movember 1^st, men start off with a clean shave, and register at Movember.com. They post their MOivation, daily MOshots, MOments and MOstories- the main goal is to raise awareness and MOney. The donations are made out to a team or a MO Bro.

These courageous men are literally walking and talking billboards for this 30-day campaign. Even if you don’t watch CP24, or partake on FB and Twitter, you will hear about this MOvement just by going to your local grocery store. The MO’s are taking over-stache by stache.

By the 30^th day, huge MO-parties and events all over the world take place, be it private parties by local teams and leagues or major galas by big time supporters. In 2010, nearly 119,000 Canadian Mo Bros and Mo Sistas got on board, raising $22.3 million CAD

Movember to Remember

Can you handle the handlebar? Or perhaps you prefer the more delicate demistache. Well what ever you fancy, you should make this November into Movember!

Join the fight against Men’s prostate and testicular cancer by taking part in the Movember movement.

Assuming that all you lovely ladies out their can’t grow a mustache of your own, support the special men in your life who can by donating to those who are growing out their gristle for a good cause.

The Movember foundation started in 2004 in Australia and New Zealand and by 2007 spread to Canada, The United States, Ireland, The United Kingdom, and Spain. In Canada proceeds of the Movember fundraising go to The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada.

So for all those ladies that can’t grow a mo’ of their own what are their other options? And how can make a positive mo’tion?
