But this did not deter me, I decided to remake and find thrifty ways to add to update my closet. Here are my two favorite easy DIY for summer:
1. Dying/Bleaching
The possibilities for this idea is limitless as your imagination. This technique works for dying and bleaching. You’ll need either dyes, bleach or both and the magic maker, old school white glue. Grab an item of clothing, whether a pair of denim shorts or a cotton tee. Splatter or make a design with the white glue. Let it dry completely. Wherever you place the white glue will not bleach or dye so you can create any kind of custom design. Next place them in the bleach/dye and get creative. After wards rinse off the excess dye/bleach. Now the easy part, just toss them into the washer for a easy wash that gets off the white glue. Viola!

2. Cutting/Shredding
Start cutting! Take tired old shirts and cut them into beach cover-ups, crop tops or just a comfy shirt . If you love your shirts too much, head to the men’s section in Value Village, it is a treasure trove of big, funky tee shirts perfect for shredding and cutting. Cut the shirts along the bottom the desired length for a crop top. Another way to cut your shirt is taking the sleeves off and expanding the armhole down towards the rib cage. Shredding your shirt makes for a fun shirt or if you really shred it a perfect beach cover up.

You can also cut your old pants in to short shorts, whether you fold them up into cuffs or leave them shredded. Cutting up your old denim jacket into a vest is a great piece to throw over any summer top.
